This website, Irish Genealogy Toolkit, is owned, created and edited by me, Claire Santry. For questions about the site, please contact me at nameofwebsite@yahoo.ie.*
All the content on my site is provided free of charge to you in the genuine belief that the content will be of value to Irish genealogists. My main aim is to provide valuable information to genealogists and to be recognised as a trusted, reliable and independent source of Irish family history advice.
In the course of providing information about record collections and directing you and other genealogy researchers to appropriate databases, archives, repositories and other sources of genealogical materials and suppliers, I sometimes receive a form of financial compensation known as 'affiliate marketing'.
I write and update my website's features strictly according to my perceived value of that information to genealogists, not its financial value to me.
I write and update the content of my website strictly according to my perceived value of the information to genealogists, not its financial value to me.
This means that if I publish details of, or promote a company or business and I have an affiliate relationship with that company or business, I may receive a small financial 'reward' if you follow a link from my webpages to their website and make a purchase.
This does not affect the amount you pay for your purchase.
I have affiliate relationships with only a handful of commercial genealogy suppliers: FindMyPast, BritishNewspaperArchive and Ancestry, and the tiny income I make from them helps to keep my website functioning, and contributes to the travel and telephone bills that accumulate as I gather fresh news and features relating to developments in Irish genealogy.
This income does not cover the costs of publishing the website. (Incidentally, I have subscriptions with two of these database providers, and I pay the same rate as all other consumers.)
By reading Irish Genealogy Toolkit you will soon recognise that I also direct you to other genealogical suppliers who do not operate affiliate schemes (or, if they do, I'm not taking part in them). As such, I receive no 'compensation' or 'reward' from them. These include Irish Newspaper Archive, MyHeritage, Irish Roots Magazine, Family Tree DNA, RootsIreland, Ulster Historical Foundation/Books Ireland, AmericanAncestors, Family Search, Amazon, and any number of family history societies and volunteer groups.
In other
words, if suppliers release records or products that I consider to be of interest to genealogists, I update my webpages to include this information, whether or not I am an affiliate of that supplier.
I write and update the content of my website strictly according to my perceived value of the information to genealogists, not its financial value to me.
I'll never be rich, but I sleep well!
Claire Santry
